19-year California native Jennifer Torrejon, known by her stage name J Grace emerged from the suburbs of Burbank just beyond Los Angeles. Having grown up with a diverse background of Peruvian and Honduran descent, this Latina experienced a fusion of her roots with American culture. Performance is nothing new for J Grace who was influenced early on by a combination of Latin, Pop, Salsa, Merengue, Freestyle, and American Pop genres. The singer attended Preforming Arts School in LA where she honed her skills in music theory, acting, songwriting, dance, and vocals.
J Grace has, through her unique style reinvented the popular 1980s Latin Pop Freestyle fusions that artists such as Lisa Lisa and Jocelyn Enriquez brought to the mainstream decades earlier, adding a modern flair of course.
